North Valley Christian Academy STEM Program enhances learning for K-12 students through the use of three interdependent elements of instruction; STEM defined vocabulary; Big Ideas that anchor and connect K-12 units of study; and an interdisciplinary STEM curriculum. Collectively these three elements empower students to think critically, develop a global perspective, and participate in the engineering and design of positive solutions for a sustainable future. Interwoven, these elements are much more powerful as they provide a method to embody transferable ideas applicable to other topics, inquiries, contexts, issues and problems in a “story” format. The “story” presents a call to action for students to inquire, critically think, and design solutions to positively impact the multiverse of their future. Our story is one of sustainability.
